The band Poder Assolador da Lapa

His songs with Eduardo Souto Neto are recorded by several singers. That same year, he forms the band O Poder Assolador da Lapa (known as P.A.L., which would be much like the initials C.O.C.K. in English), along with Danilo Caymmi, Piry Reis and Paulo Jobim. PAL was part of a more ambitious movement, University Composers (C.U., ditto A.R.S.E.). He writes, together with Danilo Caymmi, the manifesto for the movement, “The C.U. is open to all tendencies.” As long as not theirs, ça va sans dire.
